Orator took out the little paper box and opened it, revealing a small cloth bag with its opening bound by a rubber band. She squeezed it, feeling something round and hard inside.
"How did you do that?"
She shot He Ao a surprised look, then opened the small cloth bag and took out the coin with a smiley face drawn on it.
"Secret."
He Ao took the matchbox and coin back from her.
"You're so mysterious," Orator pouted. "I'm not playing with you anymore."
Then she turned and ran off.
He Ao smiled and shook his head, then continued examining the firearms on the rack.
This magic trick was actually very simple. First came a feint, drawing the audience's attention to his right hand. Before his right hand made the throwing motion, He Ao had already tossed the coin from his right hand into his left.
Then he tossed the coin in his left hand into a flat plastic tube. One end of the tube extended deep into the matchbox and was covered by the cloth bag secured with a rubber band, allowing the coin to slide straight down the tube into the bag.
This movement had to be fast and remain unnoticed by the audience, which was why the attention-grabbing motion of his right hand was so important.
The rest was simple. During the reveal, he pulled out the flat plastic tube, and the rubber band snapped back into place, sealing the small cloth bag. Then, when taking out the matchbox, he secretly shifted the rubber band on the matchbox back into its original position.
