The Youth holding Liu Nan was about to turn around when he suddenly felt a sharp pain where his right shoulder connected to his elbow. Then his entire right arm went limp from top to bottom, numb and tingling. Even his upper body felt slightly numb.
Before he could figure out what had happened, he was about to turn around and look behind him when Liu Nan suddenly broke free from the control of his numb right hand, slipped down from his body, and ran toward the streetlight ahead without looking back.
As she ran, she shouted, "Help! Help! Someone's kidnapping me!"
Something black slid down from the Youth's right shoulder. He looked down and found that it was a compact Taser. Liu Nan had used it to numb his arm.
Liu Nan glanced back at the Youth and hurried forward.
This Taser was a Custom Model she had carried with her ever since the last attack. It could only discharge once, but it could directly knock out a strong adult man. Yet when used on the Youth, it had only numbed his arm for a moment.
The reason she had not used it earlier was because her vision in the dark was worse than the Youth's. Her chances of escaping in darkness were far lower than they were somewhere with light.
As she ran, she looked up toward the source of the light ahead. It was not a streetlight, but a large Solar Cover Lamp mounted on the wall of a house.
Although she could see the light now, she was still quite a distance from its source. The Youth behind her seemed to have recovered and was about to catch up in just a few strides.
Liu Nan had no choice but to force her exhausted body into
