Soft sounds of weapons being chambered rang out beneath the silent curtain of snow.

The distant vehicle drew closer amid the low clatter of machinery.

Everyone watched the slowly approaching car. It was a light-colored driverless taxi, its side windows and windshield all set to privacy mode, making it impossible to see who was inside.

Throughout the dilapidated street, it was the only vehicle moving slowly through the snow.

Garrod leaned against the doorway, staring fixedly at the approaching taxi. His brow was slightly furrowed, and the cigarette between his fingers glowed with faint sparks amid the falling snow.

The taxi moved steadily forward, inch by inch. As it approached, everyone grew increasingly tense.

At last, the car stopped in front of the bar, and the cigarette in Garrod's hand burned down with it.
