In the early morning, a ray of sunlight shone through a gap in the curtains onto the sleeping boy's face. Albert had yet to wake, but he soon would be.

The bedroom door beside the stairs on the second floor was quietly pushed open. A brown-haired girl poked her head inside, her large brown eyes fixed on the boy still asleep in bed. She called softly, "Albert, it's time to get up."

Seeing no response from the boy, the girl pouted unhappily, pushed the door open, and walked inside, followed by a British Shorthair Cat.

"Tom, I'm counting on you." The girl placed the shorthair on the bed, gently picked up its tail, and brushed it across the boy's face twice.

Still half-asleep, Albert reached up and pushed away the cat's tail. He opened his eyes to look at his mischievous younger sister, covered a yawn with one hand, and greeted her, "Morning, Nia!"

"Dad said he's taking us to London today." Nia blinked as she looked at Albert. "We're going to get your Eton College uniform tailored and buy the things on the list while we're at it."

"Okay, got it. I'll get dressed." Albert covered another yawn, picked up the shorthair stretching its paws across the bedsheets, set it on the floor, stretched lazily, and began changing. After washing up, he headed to the living room for breakfast.

"Stayed up late again last night?" Daisy set a plate piled with a hearty breakfast in front of Albert.

"Son, we'd better hurry. Today's schedule is pretty packed." Herb spread out the letter Eton College had sent a few days earlier on the table, his face brimming with pride.

As everyone knew, private schools in England were where elites were cultivated, and Eton College stood among the very best. To get into that school, one needed two things: talent and money.

The Anderson Family was considered middle class in England. The couple ran a Law Firm and had some savings put aside.

As for Albert, everyone saw him as a genius. Not only did he excel academically, but he had also taken part in many interschool competitions and won awards.

Whether Albert truly was the genius people thought he was, only he himself knew.

A genius?

No, Albert had never considered himself a genius. He had a secret no one knew: he was a transmigrator.

As for why he had been given the title of genius, even he had no idea.

A child who did not even know what a Rubik's Cube was could easily solve a scrambled 3×3 Rubik's Cube.

In the eyes of most adults, that made him a genius.

In truth, he could solve it because he had played with Rubik's Cubes in his previous life. He knew their secrets, so he knew how to put one back together.

As for maintaining his image as a genius, Albert was not worried about being exposed in the slightest, because he had the legendary golden finger!

Transmigrators came with golden fingers. Web novels had not deceived him after all.

It all began when Albert was seven years old, when he discovered that a panel had suddenly appeared in his mind.

The panel had two main functions: accepting quests and allocating skill points.

Sometimes, it generated quests. Completing them earned experience or skill points. Experience could be used to level up skills, while skill points directly raised a skill by one level.

The first skill Albert acquired was English Mastery. It had taken him several years to raise it to Level 3.

If an average English person's English Mastery was Level 2, then an ordinary English teacher's would be Level 3.

As long as he maxed out his technology-related skills, Albert could become a genius scientist.

Of course, Albert had never wanted to become a scientist. He had not had such an ambition in his previous life either.

In his previous life, he had enjoyed reading and eventually became an ordinary webnovel author.

He had written several books and managed to save up a little money. His life had been carefree, and every day he did what he enjoyed.

In other words, he had basically been a couch potato in his previous life.

As for how he had transmigrated?

It was rather embarrassing.

One day, he had been leaning on the sofa watching a Mr. Bean movie. He casually grabbed an apple and munched on it while watching. The movie was so funny that he forgot he still had food in his mouth, and in the end, he choked to death on a piece of apple at the age of thirty.

When he woke up again, he found that he had become a baby. He spent several muddled years growing up in this family, then got another cat and named it Tom as well.

Of course, the name had actually come from the Tom and Jerry cartoon.

When the game panel suddenly appeared when he was seven, Albert began to question his life. For a time, he even wondered whether he was an NPC in some game.

Later, after never finding any creatures known as players, he treated the panel as a blessing that came with being a transmigrator.

Put transmigration and a golden finger together, and that equaled a winning life.

Albert had no great ambitions. He thought it would be best if he could date a few times after becoming an adult, then find a simple, easy job after graduating from university. Ideally, he would marry before thirty and earn enough wealth to squander for a hundred years, allowing him to spend the rest of his life freely and without worry.

To achieve that future, Albert had already made his plans. After graduation, he intended to head for Wall Street in the United States. With his economics skills maxed out, along with the fragments of memories left from his previous life, he believed he would soon earn piles of dollars.

However, the panel's skills were not easy to level up. Especially after Level 2, every level required a huge amount of experience.

Albert needed to complete quests to earn experience and skill points, and being admitted to Eton College was one such quest.

"Son, what are you thinking about?" Herb cut the steak on his plate with a knife and looked at his absentminded son.

"I was thinking about what I want to do in the future." Albert stuffed the fried egg into his mouth and did not speak until he had swallowed.

"So what do you want to do?" Daisy asked curiously. The couple rarely heard their child mention his dreams.

"Finance," Albert answered without hesitation.

"We thought you'd want to become a scientist or an astronaut." Mr. and Mrs. Anderson exchanged looks.

"What's finance?" Nia was quite unhappy about being left out of the family's conversation.

"You can make good money in finance." Albert looked up. "While we're out, help me buy a few books about economics. Consider it an early birthday present."

"Son, don't mislead your sister. Only capable people can make money in that field." Herb's face twitched. He covered his mouth with a fist and coughed lightly. "Besides, our family isn't exactly poor."

"Enough. Eat your breakfast and stop talking nonsense," Daisy interrupted. "Nia, remember to finish all your milk."

"Okay!" Nia did not particularly like drinking milk.

Everything about his life after being reborn was wonderful. He had an adorable younger sister, a harmonious family, a comfortable life, and a golden finger that could lead him to the peak of life.

If there was one thing that truly depressed Albert, it was definitely English food.

Back then, he had only half-believed the claims online that England was a culinary desert. After all, English people mostly preferred simple, comfortable lives.

However, after experiencing it himself, he no longer doubted the truth of those descriptions.

After breakfast, they helped tidy up the house and closed the doors and windows. Then, the Anderson Family prepared to head out together.

Albert had just opened the door of the Ford and was about to climb into the back seat when he suddenly heard Nia cry out in surprise beside him, "Look, is that an owl?"

Mr. and Mrs. Anderson looked doubtfully in the direction their daughter was pointing. They saw an owl flying toward them. As it passed over their heads, it dropped a letter at Albert's feet.

At that moment, every member of the Anderson Family froze.

An owl... delivering a letter?

Since when had owls started moonlighting as postmen?
