Late at night, Harry sat at the desk in his bedroom, idly flipping through the stack of latest newspapers tossed on it. He had been sitting there for nearly four hours, until the street outside gradually grew dark. Dumbledore's owl had mentioned that he would come to Number 4 Privet Drive at eleven to take him to 12 Grimmauld Place, where he could spend the rest of the holiday with Sirius Black. It was undoubtedly good news. The only problem was that the second hand moved far too slowly, and he had to distract himself by reading the papers so the wait would not become unbearable.
The front-page headline of the first newspaper read: Scrimgeour Replaces Fudge
Most of the front page was taken up by a large black-and-white photograph of a man waving at Harry as he read the paper.
The second page lavishly praised Scrimgeour's heroic deeds in leading Aurors against Dark Wizards, as well as the policies he had introduced after becoming Minister for Magic.
However, Harry cared more about the earlier battle. It was said that eight Death Eaters had been killed on the spot by Aurors during the ambush at that wedding, while three others had been arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment in Azkaban.
Even more unbelievable was that the Aurors had also captured or killed more than a hundred Dark Wizards, creating an unprecedented legend.
The news had already spread throughout the entire British wizarding world.
Yet Harry saw something unusual behind it all.
The wedding mentioned in the newspapers was clearly Albert's wedding.
That meant the truth of the entire matter had to be different from what the papers described, so it was hardly surprising that it had turned into such a great victory.
