"Finished?"
Isabelle, wearing a loose nightgown, entered the study carrying two cups of steaming milk. She set one on Albert's desk, swept aside her hair, bent down to kiss his cheek, then sat in the chair by the window. Pulling back the thin beige curtains, she looked out at Katrina, who was jogging in the yard.
"Why didn't you sleep a little longer?"
After tidying the notes on his desk and putting them away in a drawer, Albert turned to look at Isabelle as she sat there drinking milk.
"I'm not sleepy. I used to get up for morning exercise around this time." Isabelle sounded rather helpless. Ever since becoming pregnant, many things had become inconvenient.
"How about going back for another nap?" Albert took a small sip of milk and reminded her with a smile, "Lack of sleep is bad for your skin. It's a woman's worst enemy."
