As they discussed in low voices, Lupin, who had been standing by the window watching the street outside through binoculars, suddenly gave a shrill warning to his companions. "The target has appeared, but... I don't see anyone following him."
After saying that, Lupin handed the binoculars to Arthur and quickly turned to look at the large Scrying Mirror on the table.
The Dark Magic detector had not reacted at all.
In fact, at almost the same moment, Sirius lowered his head to look at the Detection Pocket Watch in his hand. It had not reacted either. Only the furtive figure in the Beast-Revealing Mirror by the wall seemed to have prompted some response.
Sirius and Lupin quickly exchanged glances.
Had the Death Eaters never sent anyone to follow him, or had there never been any so-called follower from the very beginning?
Had they imagined it all?
"How likely is it that Kenneth is under the Imperius Curse?"
