Malfoy stopped at the entrance to the Room of Requirement on the eighth floor of the castle. Under the cover of a Disillusionment Charm, he looked around warily. Only after confirming that no one was nearby did he swiftly open the door, slip inside, and shut it behind him, sealing away that illusion of being watched.
Over the past few days, Draco had been feeling inexplicably restless. He constantly felt as though someone was watching him, yet no matter what he did, he could not find whoever was spying on him. Still, that feeling of being monitored refused to go away.
Even the Scrying Mirror was useless. That piece of junk never stopped ringing.
Of course, it might have just been in his head. Ever since his father Lucius had been thoroughly exposed as a Death Eater, many Hogwarts students had looked at him strangely. Some even liked to point at him behind his back and say nasty things. But Draco did not care much about their stares or gossip, because he knew perfectly well that only when the Dark Lord returned to power would those irritating fools shut their hateful mouths like frightened rabbits.
If he got into an argument with them, he would probably be unable to stop himself from beating them up.
Besides, for Malfoy, who carried out an important mission for the Dark Lord, attracting other people's attention was truly unsuitable. Silently completing the Dark Lord's task like a nobody was the most sensible thing he could do right now.
Skilled at making his way through the mountains of junk piled up from discarded items, Malfoy eventually stopped before a cabinet as tall as a man. He did not understand why Snape thought he could repair the thing.
