"You're back?"
After throwing herself at Albert and giving him a tight hug, Isabelle carefully checked him over. Only after confirming he was unharmed did she finally breathe a sigh of relief.
"Don't worry, darling. How's Alice?"
Albert kissed Isabelle's slightly flustered cheek, trying to distract her.
"She fell asleep again after feeding."
Isabelle held Albert tightly. She knew all too well what had happened tonight.
"How is Scrimgeour?"
Katrina also relaxed upon seeing Albert and casually poured him a cup of black tea.
"Probably... dead. Though Scrimgeour took Liquid Luck, I don't think that stuff could save him. Liquid Luck isn't actually a luck potion; it can't truly bring someone good fortune."
Albert had actually anticipated Scrimgeour's fate long ago, especially after the man rejected his initial proposal and chose to gamble instead.
Although Scrimgeour did indeed have a slim chance of survival, once he used a fake to draw The Dark Lord's attention, Voldemort would most likely no longer tolerate letting him live.

Still, that was only the worst possible outcome. Albert did not think things would develop in the worst direction.
After all, Scrimgeour had taken Liquid Luck. He would surely find a way to handle things, especially with Albert absent. He certainly would not be foolish enough to fight Voldemort and the Death Eaters head-on.
