The feast celebrating the driving out of the Death Eaters had ended by eight that evening. Although Borsival had left several hundred Galleons at Hogsmeade's two pubs to cover the drinks, most Dark Wizards had not drunk much at the victory feast. They all knew that none of the people around them were good men, so naturally they were not stupid enough to get themselves drunk. Were they tired of living?

As the night deepened, the large number of Dark Wizards gathered in the pubs began to disperse, and the lights in the village gradually went out. This moonless night was exceptionally quiet.

Creak.

A sound broke the silence late at night as a wooden door was opened from within. A figure holding a wand cautiously poked his head out through the gap, furtively surveying the area around the house. On the path leading from Hogwarts to Hogsmeade, the Death Eaters led by Yaxley had been waiting for quite some time.

Although Alecto's people had already informed them of Hogsmeade's situation through communication bookmarks, Yaxley was still uneasy and had decided to spend more time waiting for news from his own man.
