"What exactly did Anderson want?"
If any students had been here, they would certainly have been astonished. Hogwarts' new headmaster, the notorious Old Bat, Severus Snape, was actually... actually listening to the Wizard Watchtower's daily broadcast, and even discussing its contents with Dumbledore's portrait on the office wall. It simply did not fit their image of the Old Bat at all.
Dumbledore's portrait kept its eyes closed and did not answer the new headmaster's question, as though it really were nothing more than a painting.
"The situation is very bad right now. The Death Eaters suffered heavy losses in Hogsmeade, and on the same day, Harry Potter led people into Azkaban and broke every prisoner out. This string of events has thoroughly enraged the Dark Lord. You know as well as I do that whenever anything happens now, Anderson is the first person they think of."
Snape switched off the radio and continued rambling to the portrait on the wall. He had his own views on the situation, but recent developments had become increasingly difficult for him to understand. He had no choice but to spend time seeking Dumbledore's advice, to figure out what that man was really trying to do and avoid falling into a trap himself.
"Anderson has gone into hiding. The Death Eaters cannot find where he is hiding and cannot do a thing to him."
When Dumbledore's portrait still gave no answer, Snape could only continue by himself. "The Death Eaters are practically insane now, frantically searching for Anderson. They dream of killing him. To force him out, many Death Eaters have begun arresting anyone connected to him in the British wizarding world, trying to use despicable means."
"Have all their brains been caught in a door?"
The old wizard with the red nose in the
