After that incident, European countries dispatched heaps of Aurors to watch him—the kind he could never shake off.
Voldemort temporarily lost interest in continuing his search for Grigoriovich across Europe and chose to return directly to England, prompting the Aurors assigned by the various Ministries of Magic to tail him to breathe sighs of relief.
They might have been Aurors, but they were still merely paid employees. No one wanted to face that kind of Dark Lord. Losing their lives over it simply was not worth it.
