Isabelle had just finished washing her hair when she heard the bathroom door open. She grabbed a towel from beside her and dried her hair, then pushed open the half-closed door and stepped out of the bathroom, just in time to run into Albert returning to their room. She walked over, kissed his cheek, and asked with a smile, "Darling, has something good happened lately?"
"Nothing good. Plenty of bad things, though."
Albert took the towel from Isabelle's hand, patted the armchair beside him to signal for her to sit down, and began helping her dry her hair.
"Bad things?"
"News came from the Order of the Phoenix. They said the British wizarding world is a complete mess now, thanks to the Dark Wizards."
"You seem quite happy to see it."
Isabelle studied her husband's expression through the mirror. She felt that Albert was pleased with the current situation.
"It's not about whether I'm happy or not. This was bound to happen sooner or later," Albert said softly. "The conflict between the Dark Lord and ordinary wizards is severe. It was only a matter of time before the two sides clashed."
"The problem is that not everyone likes war. There must be many people trying to remain neutral."
Isabelle knew this had something to do with Albert. He had led many young wizards in forming the Defense Association against the Dark Lord and taught them how to fight Dark Wizards. By now, the Defense Association had grown strong enough to pose a threat to the Dark Lord.
"To be honest, I rather dislike those people who try to stay neutral. Things have already reached this point, yet they neither flee nor give up their neutrality. There's clearly something wrong with their brains." Albert's tone was full of contempt and disdain.
