If this had been back when he was an Auror a few years ago, Kingsley would have hesitated again and again before using the Imperius Curse, let alone more destructive Dark magic. Much less would he have used someone else to kill, deliberately provoking a massacre like this.

When had they stopped being so wary of doing such things?

"This war really has changed a lot of things."

Kingsley sighed softly and stopped dwelling on it.

"No one wants things to be this way."

Lupin understood Kingsley's feelings well. Yet ironically, he had no right to complain about this Wizarding War, because so far, he was one of the few people who had benefited from it.

After secretly using the Imperius Curse to control the dark wizard responsible for the arson, the two followed their original plan and let him serve his purpose. Whether he died in the process had nothing to do with them.

After all, considering the things he had done, he deserved to die.

He might as well do some good before he died.

After returning, the two told everyone about the situation outside. However, no one was in high spirits. The current wizarding world felt unfamiliar and unsettling to them.

"Where's Harry?" Lupin suddenly asked.

"Moody's teaching them. Is something wrong?" Sirius could tell that his old friend seemed to have something to say.

"No, it's nothing." Lupin shook his head.

"You don't look like it's nothing." After pouring Lupin a glass of whiskey, Sirius turned to Kingsley. "Looks like things outside are really bad."

"They are. We saw Dark Wizards destroying a Muggle tower with our own eyes." Kingsley took the whiskey and drained it in one gulp, then told them what they had just done.

"Don't tell me you sympathized with that guy?" Sirius
