Since breaking into Nurmengard and "picking up" Grindelwald's wand, Voldemort had not simply trusted his instincts and concluded that the "Deathstick" was fake. Instead, he took it to visit a wandmaker who had previously fled to the Mediterranean Sea in terror.

A visit from Voldemort was never a good thing.

Not long ago, several wandmakers who had received visits from Voldemort had vanished without a trace.

Anyone could guess their fate.

As one of the few wandmakers left in Europe, Ollivander had fled with his family as soon as he discovered that his colleagues were in trouble.

However, one night, when he opened his door and saw Voldemort draped in a black cloak, his mentality collapsed completely.

Still, the wandmaker forced down his fear, invited Voldemort inside to talk, and asked what he wanted.
