The three of them did not talk about much. Professor McGonagall looked exhausted; the joy brought by a great victory clearly could not completely dispel the fatigue. What everyone needed most now was to lie in bed with their eyes closed and rest, easing the physical and mental weariness caused by a night of desperate fighting, rather than drinking large amounts of strong tea to force themselves awake while dealing with the mess left behind by the war.

Professor McGonagall had no choice. She was the deputy headmistress, after all, and would likely be appointed the next headmistress within the next few days.

The damage the war had caused to the castle could be set aside for now, but the huge number of corpses left behind during the war needed to be dealt with immediately. Otherwise, they could easily turn into a terrible disaster.

What was more, that was far from the only mess Professor McGonagall had to handle. Over the coming days, and perhaps even longer, she would have to devote enormous effort to cleaning up the aftermath.

That was the main reason Professor McGonagall had sought out Albert. She had hoped someone could help share the pressure, but she was clearly destined to be disappointed.

Fortunately, Albert did not simply wash his hands of it. He still did what he could to offer Professor McGonagall useful assistance, briefly explaining the plans in the crisis contingency proposal for her reference. They were far more reliable than anything the physically and mentally exhausted Professor McGonagall could come up with on the spot.

The only problem was that, during their discussion, Albert pointed out more and more issues, giving Professor McGonagall an enormous headache as she was forced to face them.
