Harry stared fixedly at the Daily Prophet Hermione had just brought him, the fingers clutching the paper trembling slightly.

Harry had only just woken up that morning when he discovered that he was "dead."
That alone would have been bad enough.
He had also received a pile of letters. Some asked whether he was dead, some expressed concern over his injuries, some wished him a speedy recovery, and others advised him not to play Quidditch anymore.
It made Harry feel as though people were writing to him simply to confirm whether he was still alive.
After all, Owls could not deliver letters to dead people.
