Quidditch Showdown

Gryffindor team and Slytherin team had already left their changing rooms and marched onto the pitch in neat lines. The air was thick with gunpowder tension. Before the match began, both captains gripped each other's hands hard, as though each wanted to crush the other's fingers.

Lee Jordan, as usual, served as the Quidditch commentator. His somewhat biased introduction of the two teams drew a chorus of boos from the Slytherin students.

A moment later, Madam Hooch's whistle sounded, only to be quickly drowned out by the roar of the crowd, opening this dirty match.

Just as Albert had expected, the Quidditch Pitch had become a battlefield for both sides.

After Angelina scored the first ten points for Gryffindor and flew around the pitch with her fist raised, she was targeted by Slytherin captain Marcus. The hulking boy nearly knocked Angelina off her broom.

The excited cheers from below were replaced by angry cries, and wave after wave of fouls erupted from the sea of scarlet.

Though Marcus claimed he had not seen Angelina and offered a thoroughly insincere apology, he still could not escape a penalty.

Amid the cheers of the crowd, Gryffindor scored again.

Naturally, that was not the end of it. Gryffindor's retaliation came swiftly.

When Fred happened to fly past Marcus, he "accidentally" smacked the back of his head with his bat. The smug boy slammed face-first into his broom handle, leaving a red mark on his forehead and sending blood streaming from his nose.

Naturally, Fred was penalized by Madam Hooch for attacking a Slytherin player without cause.

The match continued, and the clashes on the pitch escalated.

"That guy has no class. That was definitely deliberate."
