Surprise

On the way to the Great Hall, Albert kept talking with Fred, George, and Lee Jordan about what had happened in Defence Against the Dark Arts. He noticed that the three of them had begun to doubt whether Professor Moody was really an impostor.

He was not surprised. What Professor Moody taught in class carried a strong personal style, and only Moody, as an Auror, could teach them from his experience fighting Dark Wizards.

Albert had no intention of offering an opinion on the matter. In his view, Fred, George, and Lee Jordan were taking it far too much for granted.

That was someone risking his life, disguising himself as a professor and infiltrating Hogwarts as a spy. He was not there to hand himself over to Dumbledore. How could he possibly let others spot the flaws at a glance?

If Albert had known nothing, he probably would have found it difficult to see through Moody's disguise as well.

Unfortunately, he knew everything, while Moody—oh, he should be called Barty Crouch Jr.—knew nothing.

He did not know that someone knew everything. Nor did he know that after painstakingly questioning Mad-Eye about all sorts of habits and mannerisms, working hard to disguise himself as Mad-Eye, he would run into someone who had read the script in advance. It really was a sad story.

The conversation soon turned to wandless magic. They were all envious of such cool wandless magic techniques.

It could not be helped. The sight of Albert brushing aside a spell with his hand had been unbelievably cool.

Although the three of them had seen Albert do something similar before, he had been wearing a Defense Bracelet back then and relying on the effects of a magical item. What he had used just now, however, was genuine wandless magic.
