"Will this really work?"

Moaning Myrtle happily "swam" beside Albert. It would have been even better if they had not been driven out of the Merpeople village so quickly.

"We have Myrtle to thank this time. We won't need to worry about getting lost in the second task."

Albert was in a fairly good mood, though he was feeling a little cold. The Warming Charm was not especially effective. Logically speaking, if the lake had frozen over in winter, the temperature at the bottom should have been around four degrees Celsius. That was hardly warm.

"Don't mention it."

Moaning Myrtle giggled. She seemed to enjoy being thanked, especially by someone who was her type.

Just as the three of them and the ghost were preparing to return to the surface, Albert sensed something. He looked at the detection bracelet on his left wrist, which had begun to grow warm. It seemed some Dark Creature was approaching them.

Grindylow?

Albert narrowed his eyes and turned to look into the dark, murky water below. The forest of dark green aquatic plants beneath them gave him an oppressive feeling.

"What's wrong?"

Myrtle noticed Albert turning his head and followed his gaze, asking in confusion.

Albert took out his wand and gave it a light flick. A ball of light flew from its tip and burst open beneath the lake, instantly driving away the darkness around them.

When Fred and George saw Albert's reaction, they too realized something was wrong. They drew their wands and warily watched below. They soon found out why.

"Bloody hell!"

"Damn it, did we stumble into a Grindylow nest?"

The two cursed under their breaths. Below them, a huge swarm of Grindylows poured from the thick forest of aquatic plants and raced toward them like mad. Fred and George,
