Scotland, Voldemort's lair.
The old house, abandoned for more than a decade, had finally undergone some simple repairs not long ago and welcomed back its master.
At that moment, in the dimly lit room, Voldemort sat in a dark velvet chair, looking over the Death Eaters gathered around the long table. His gaze settled on one of them as he asked hoarsely, "Yaxley, have you heard anything about our old friend?"
"Master, Karkaroff did not dare return to Durmstrang. That traitor is hiding in fear. I found the last person who saw him, but by the time I got there, Karkaroff had already left. It will probably take more time to find him."
After being called upon by Voldemort, the Death Eater named Yaxley lowered his head and respectfully reported the latest news to the Dark Lord.
"Find Karkaroff. I will personally execute that traitor. No one can remain alive after betraying Voldemort."
Cold killing intent shone from Voldemort's scarlet eyes, making every Death Eater present shudder.
They all knew Karkaroff was doomed, no matter where he hid.
"Some of our loyal Death Eaters are still imprisoned in Azkaban," Voldemort said softly. "I imagine they can hardly wait to serve me again."
"Master, are you planning to attack Azkaban and free those being held..." Malfoy had not finished speaking before Voldemort raised a pale hand and cut him off.
Malfoy immediately fell silent.
"The Dementors must come over to our side. Persuading them will not be difficult." Voldemort looked at his servants. "Who will go and persuade the Dementors? Of course, not now. We cannot expose ourselves yet."
Voldemort's lipless mouth twisted into a strange smile. "As far as I know, Minister for Magic Fudge is causing trouble for Dumbledore. This is a good opportunity."
The Death Eaters all lowered
