Albert was utterly unmoved by everyone else's well-intentioned advice. Since he had already made his decision, he had no intention of changing his mind at the last minute.

If he could not face it with an all-out mindset, then he might as well give up now. Any shred of hesitation would only add another layer of risk to his duel with Voldemort.

Actually, if not for all sorts of reasons, Albert would have loved to have Dumbledore take his place in a duel against Voldemort. That certainly would have been interesting.

Unfortunately, the occasion was wrong. Dumbledore clearly could not complete the panel quest in his place, so it was merely a passing thought.

"Wait... that actually seems like a good idea." Albert stared in Voldemort's direction, a strange gleam flickering in his eyes.

Ignoring the malice Voldemort sent his way, Albert smiled and took out some soft candy from his pocket, casually sharing it with the others nearby.

Dumbledore stopped trying to persuade him. He picked up a piece of candy, unwrapped it, and put it into his mouth. After chewing twice, he narrowed his eyes slightly and studied Albert's utterly impassive face from top to bottom. "It tastes good," he said with a smile.

The referee beside them was a little dumbfounded. He eyed Dumbledore suspiciously, then looked at the candy in Albert's hand. With a soft sigh, he took one as well.

"The final will begin in ten minutes. You still have time to regret this." Before leaving, the referee turned back and added, "There's no shame in surrendering. Borsival has already thrown away all his dignity. Dumbledore, help me talk some sense into him. If he really dies in the duel, it simply won't be worth it. And thank you for the candy. It tastes good."
