Albert flipped through the latest issue of the Daily Prophet, then secretly glanced at Isabelle, who was reading The Quibbler, and sighed to himself. Ever since they had returned from Spain, Isabelle had been angry with him. Albert had spent several nights in a row sleeping on the sofa.

"Still angry?"

"How would I dare be angry with you, my champion?" Isabelle said without looking up.

Albert cast Katrina a pleading look, but she merely shrugged helplessly, indicating there was nothing she could do.

"All right, don't be angry anymore."

Albert walked around the sofa to stand behind Isabelle, wrapped his arms around her from behind, leaned close, and said softly, "I know I took a bit of a risk before, but it wasn't as dangerous as you two thought. Besides, I took Liquid Luck, and Dumbledore helped too."

"You're just like my unreliable father," Isabelle said with a stern expression. "Do you know how hard my mother's life is now? I don't want to end up like that someday."

"I'm sorry. I was reckless."

After Isabelle stared at him for a moment, Albert apologized earnestly and raised a hand in promise. "I'll protect myself from now on. Even if I want to cause trouble, I'll get someone else to do it."

"Why does that sound like you're always hiding behind the scenes and plotting?" Katrina looked up at Albert, her expression exceptionally strange.

"No, I'm a good person."

Noticing that Isabelle was still staring at him, Albert gave a light cough and explained, "In a situation like last time, having you stay in the stadium would only have kept me from fighting at full strength. I didn't know whether the battle with the Dark Lord would destroy
