History

World-Favored Protagonist

The System identifies Tang San as the world's protagonist, favored by the Douluo World and carrying a large amount of world power. It states that disruptions to Tang San force the world to expend power repairing altered events or create new fortuitous encounters for him. 34

Holy Soul Village and Apprenticeship

While gathering firewood outside Holy Soul Village, Tang San encountered Li Xuan disguised as an elderly Fate Calculator. Initially cautious and dismissive of the stranger's assertions, Tang San was shaken when Li Xuan recognized signs of his Mysterious Jade Hand and Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track cultivation, then produced the words “Tang Sect” through a staged divination. 65 66

Tang San awakened Blue Silver Grass and a hammer as twin Martial Souls, along with Innate Full Spirit Power. Tang Hao instructed him to use the hammer in his left hand to protect the grass in his right and to conceal the hammer from untrusted people. 68

Convinced by further apparent predictions about his Spirit Power and cultivation method, Tang San formally accepted Li Xuan's disguised identity, Elder Yuan, as his master. Li Xuan told him that his Blue Silver Grass had regressed from a Blue Silver Emperor state and that it could be restored after graduation from a high-level Spirit Master Academy. 69 70

Delays at Notting Academy

On the way to Notting Academy, Tang San was repeatedly delayed through traps, false directions, staged accusations, and the loss of his Spirit Hall certification and several Hidden Weapons. He became convinced that the Sacrifice Clan, particularly a figure named Ji San, was responsible. 72 74

After a gatekeeper dismissed his Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul and threw down his certification, Tang San lost control and kicked the gatekeeper several meters away. His accumulated anger later erupted into a transformation into Green Fatty when Yu Xiaogang pursued him over his twin Martial Souls. 75

When Li Xuan rebuilt the destroyed academy, Tang San publicly thanked him and promised a favor. Li Xuan used that favor to make Tang San grow his hair to his waist. Tang San subsequently studied etiquette, wore the academy's girls' uniform, and became accustomed to its unusual curriculum. 80 83

Spirit Ring Conflict and Expulsion

Tang San entered the Spirit Hunting Forest to obtain his First Spirit Ring. His confidence was shaken after encountering peers of comparable age who displayed exceptional strength, including Li Xuan in another disguise. 85

He eventually rejected the Divine Calculation Sect's alleged requirement to hunt a Ten-Year Spirit Beast, instead absorbing a Spirit Ring from a Mandala Snake more than four hundred years old. Soon afterward, he received a blood letter bearing Elder Yuan's mark that expelled him from the sect. The loss left him depressed and caused his cultivation to stagnate for half a month. 136

Yu Xiaogang later consoled Tang San and became his godfather, restoring Tang San's motivation. 136

Shrek and the Competition

Several years later, Tang San arrived at Shrek Girls' Academy with Spirit Power at level twenty-nine. His long hair, fair skin, feminine posture, and etiquette training led others—including Oscar—to mistake him for a girl. He became friends with Oscar, Dai Mubai, and Ma Hongjun. 155 160

Tang San recognized the immense gap between himself and Li Xuan after repeatedly witnessing Li Xuan's strength. Despite relying on his past-life Tang Sect knowledge, he concluded that he had been thoroughly defeated by a peer. 169 183

During an ambush by black-clad Spirit Masters, Tang San lost the Eight Spider Soul Bone and suffered a near-fatal blow from a Spirit Douluo. A wild boar Soul Bone protected his head, while his Hidden Weapons helped him hold the enemy at bay. 257

City of Slaughter, Clear Sky Sect, and Sea God Island

Tang San entered the City of Slaughter alongside Tang Hao despite knowing that Li Xuan had passed through the area. He used Purple Demon Eyes to break through seductive illusions, including images of Bibi Dong, Hu Liena, and his past self. 261

He later returned to the Clear Sky Sect to honor his grandfather and return Tang Hao's arm and leg Soul Bones. Tang Long tested his speed and strength, which Tang San passed comfortably, but the Seventh Elder immediately subjected him to overwhelming Spirit Power pressure. 276

After completing his trials on Sea God Island, Tang San discovered that the Sea God Trident was missing. Unable to inherit the Sea God's position, he left the island deeply disappointed. 330

Appearance

Tang San's appearance becomes increasingly feminine over time due to his long hair, etiquette training, and the girls' academy uniform requirement. His appearance is repeatedly mistaken for that of a girl, despite his insistence that he is male. 155 160

  • Long hair grown as payment for Li Xuan's favor; Tang San pledged to let it reach his waist. 80
  • Fair skin and a feminine demeanor, posture, and clothing style. 155
  • Frequently wears dresses or girls' uniforms at Shrek Girls' Academy. 155 160
  • Initially transformed into Green Fatty during an anger-fueled outburst. 75

Personality

Tang San is cautious, observant, and initially difficult to deceive. He scrutinizes suspicious situations with Purple Demon Eyes and relies heavily on the knowledge and techniques retained from the Tang Sect. However, Li Xuan's accurate references to Tang San's past life and techniques repeatedly overcome that caution. 66 69 72

He is responsible toward other students and willing to endure hardship for them, such as cleaning an inn kitchen when they lacked shelter. He also shows genuine gratitude to those he believes have helped him. 73 80

Tang San is proud and stubborn about relying on his own strength. This conviction led him to reject his master's alleged Spirit Ring plan, but the consequences of his expulsion left him guilt-ridden and depressed. 135 136

His patience has limits. Repeated manipulation, disrespect, and setbacks can provoke intense anger, including violence against the Notting Academy gatekeeper and his Green Fatty transformation. 72 75
