Britain had a famous dish called Wellington steak. It was made with the finest filet mignon, seared over high heat until browned, wrapped in a layer of mushroom duxelles with foie gras, then another layer of ham, before being encased in puff pastry, brushed evenly with egg yolk, and baked.

This dish was on the banquet menu at Hogwarts. The preparations before baking were tedious, but once one tasted it, the long wait felt worthwhile.

Yet this dish was actually French. It was named Wellington steak to commemorate the Duke of Wellington at the Battle of Waterloo.

Napoleon had his famous quotations, and Wellington had one too: "I spent my whole life trying to guess what lay beyond the mountain."
