There was a fountain in Saint-Michel Square. The statue standing at its center was the Archangel Michael, raising a sword high in both hands. A winged dragon opened its jaws, and a stream of water spouted from its mouth.

Klimian stopped as he passed the fountain, and the others halted with him.

My teacher, Newt Scamander, and Aurors from the Ministry of Magic stopped him at the time." Klimian looked at Gong Saiyi. "Sometimes, the spirits of animals attach themselves to substances such as fire. The fire dragons created by Muggles are often far removed from real fire dragons. The Archangel Michael presides over war. Grindelwald was not merely a speaker; he often held salons as well, where he made prophecies—prophecies about war."

Klimian looked again at the sculpted fountain. "For all humanity, he encouraged wizards to create a whole new world by means different from the 'old ways.' If wizards did not rise up and bring about the world we hoped for, Muggles would destroy this world. And it was not merely about stopping them. Sooner or later, Muggles would turn the weapons they had researched against us. Our true enemies were their arrogance, their thirst for power, and their savagery."
