No, there was no metro,

Nothing from July to September,

You bought a ticket, spent your money, but the trains just did not run,

There was no point coming to the station,

The carriages were hot as hell,

You might as well find somewhere else to cool off,

Only two lines would be running,

The suburban trains were a thing of the past,

Want to spend the weekend in Sèvres?

Drive your own crappy little car there,

No, there was no metro,

Oh, even if it was useless, go protest,

Maybe the law would pass.

Not far from the entrance to the Church of Saint Francis Xavier was a metro station, where a street performer was strumming a guitar and singing.

"You know, the Rodin Museum is that way." Gong Saiyi pointed beside Les Invalides. "There's a sculpture inside called Gates of Hell."

Severus ignored Gong Saiyi. He looked around and found no one nearby, so he twisted the handle. The church's side door opened easily.

The Church of Saint Francis Xavier in Paris was completed in 1861. It was an auxiliary building constructed during Haussmann's renovation of Paris. Like The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, it had two towers and a rose window, except its facade had only one entrance and lacked such exquisite relief carvings.

Once the church doors opened, the layout inside proved perfectly conventional. Saint-Sulpice at least had the Rose Line; the Church of Saint Francis Xavier did not even have that. However, it did have a pipe organ, beneath which hung a clock. The clock was utterly ordinary, the sort sold in any general store.

At the main altar stood something resembling a coffin. Through the altar, they could see a glowing statue, which should have been Saint Francis Xavier, the church's patron saint.
