Early in the morning, Madame Duchâtel took a carriage back to Paris. Margarita, Matilda, and the others saw her off, much as Georgiana had been "seen off" when she moved out of the Tuileries Palace last time.
Georgiana had not gone to see her off. Her documents now contained some materials related to magic, and she did not know whether she should hand them over to Feilier for safekeeping.
Wizards' lives had now become Muggle-like. At the very least, they did not live in primitive jungles alongside their tribes like wizards of ancient times or Native American tribes. Siberia happened to be such a place.
Those dark wizards were neither Death Eaters nor Grindelwald's followers. Death Eaters persecuted half-bloods and Muggle-borns through courts and the Half-Blood Registration Commission. Grindelwald's followers believed they were saving the world, and that the International Statute of Secrecy hindered their actions. But the dark wizards in the primeval forests ignored laws entirely. They followed only the law of the jungle.
A knock came from the door. Then Carolan pushed it open and walked in herself, her face brimming with smiles.
"Are you ready?" Carolan asked with a smile.
Georgiana did not want to speak.
"Are you feeling guilty because you broke that law?" Carolan said mockingly. "You should have taught her a lesson long ago."
But Georgiana was thinking of those words.
Only when people realized they were no longer safe would they leave the game.
Sometimes, people acted without fear because they thought no one would dare do anything to them. They dared provoke anyone and commit any mistake.
People without a sense of fear were either mentally disturbed, foolish, or both.
That saying was not always right, but sometimes it was. As someone had said, curiosity was the strongest force driving people forward.
