After leaving the hotel, they found a taxi that had just dropped off a tourist at the entrance, with the last piece of luggage being taken from the boot.

The two of them climbed in and slammed the door shut.

"Where to?" the driver asked, looking at them through the rear-view mirror.

"London Postal Centre," Severus said.

The taxi driver, whose engine was still running, immediately stepped on the accelerator, and the black cab began weaving through the streets of London.

Pomona sat in the car, looking at this familiar yet unfamiliar city through the window.

They were heading in the direction of King's Cross Station, but the taxi turned just before reaching the British Library. It passed the University of London and Russell Square, from which they could see the back of the British Museum.

Then they turned again, passed a hospital, and arrived at Charles Dickens's former residence. Many Dickens fans had gathered there, though unlike Sherlock Holmes fans, they were not wearing deerstalker hats.

After passing another street, the taxi arrived at the London Postal Centre.

"Twenty pounds, thank you," the driver said, turning to them.

Severus smiled at him, then waved a hand before the driver's face. The driver's eyes immediately became blank and unfocused. Taking advantage of the moment, Severus opened the door and led Pomona out of the taxi by the hand.

He did it far too smoothly. Clearly, this was not his first time. Pomona had initially been worried because she had not exchanged any Muggle money, but now she had something else to worry about.

The International Statute of Secrecy forbade the use of magic on Muggles, but if magic could bring so many "conveniences," why not use it?

Not long after they got out, two more tourists climbed into the taxi.
