Georgiana followed the Doxy's cries, while the hushed voices grew louder and louder, as if she were getting closer to them.

"Come on! We're almost there!"

Hagrid said cheerfully, waving at Pomona.

By the light of the torch in his hand, she saw that she was in a cave. She could faintly hear the sound of running water.

"Is there water in the cave?" Pomona asked Hagrid.

"No, it's a waterfall," Hagrid said. "It'll take another two hours if you want to see it."

"Does this water come from the waterfall?" Pomona asked, looking at a small stream running through the cave.

Just then came a burst of squeaking, and a Doxy began circling Hagrid's torch.

Hagrid tried to shoo it away as if it were a fly.

Ever since the accident in third year, Hagrid's Care of Magical Creatures classes had never quite recovered. Grubbly-Plank had taught most of the fourth-year lessons as a substitute, while he seemed to have gone back to being the gamekeeper.

"This is where I found it."

After chasing away the annoying Doxy, they entered an especially spacious cavern. Pomona did not even need Hagrid to tell her why. A Fireseed Bush was burning inside the cave.

"It's grown much bigger than the one in my greenhouse," Pomona said, looking at the twenty-foot-tall Fireseed Bush. It burned quietly in the cave, which remained pitch-black even in daylight, lighting up almost the entire cavern.

"There are even bigger ones," Hagrid said.

"Why is that?" Pomona asked the Giant-like Hagrid.

"I think it's because of the water here," Hagrid said, blinking. "When I water pumpkins with water from the cave, they grow especially big."

Only then did Pomona remember that the soil in her greenhouse had all been gathered from near the Forbidden Forest. Though her
