"Stop! Stop it!"
Leeds Thugut called out to the two boys, who were throwing water balloons at Myrtle.
"Get out of here!" Leeds told Myrtle.
Myrtle looked at Leeds as if trying to discern her intentions.
"They trapped me!" Myrtle pointed at a clock on the floor. "There's an Impediment Jinx on it. I can only leave if it's destroyed."
"Mind your own business!" one of the boys said to Leeds.
"Ha ha, I hit her on the head. Ten points!" said the other boy.
Leeds used Bombarda to destroy the clock.
The moment Myrtle was free, she fled into a toilet.
"That's how we met," Leeds told Pomona and Snape.
They had run into each other on the way to Ravenclaw Tower. Leeds wore a black evening gown and looked as though she and Snape were attending the ball together. Pomona stood between them, looking utterly out of place.
By the time they reached the entrance hall outside the Great Hall, a great many people had already gathered there, meeting up with their arranged partners.
"Where's your dance partner?" Pomona asked Leeds.
"I found him," Snape said, but as soon as he finished speaking, he dragged Pomona away.
"Where?" Pomona searched around as she stumbled after him.
Once they had retreated to a "safe distance," Pomona, hiding behind a statue, spotted Barnaby. He wore the red coat he had worn at the Three Broomsticks last time, with a black shirt underneath that happened to "match" Leeds's black gown.
Barnaby was not particularly handsome, but he looked dazzling now. He held a jewelry box in his hand.
"He didn't bring those three rings," Pomona said to Snape.
"I can see that," he said impatiently.
"Help me put it on!" Leeds said to Barnaby.
