Pomona bought a copy of The Quibbler at Dervish and Banges. It was said that the magazine had reported on the testimony given for Sirius Black, and it came with a pair of glasses that supposedly let you see Wrackspurts.

"If you wear those, I'm not going with you," Severus threatened.

The glasses reminded Pomona of an owl.

"Don't worry, I won't wear them," Pomona said, slipping the glasses into her pocket.

With a grave expression, he headed for the Hog's Head.

Pomona, meanwhile, imagined the old bat wearing those glasses. If he had not bought the magazine, how would he have known someone had testified for Sirius Black?

When he pushed open the door, the Hog's Head was as it had always been: dim, filthy, and full of suspicious-looking patrons.

Severus looked at her and suddenly laughed.

Pomona tugged at his sleeve. That smile of his had seemed very rude.

Aberforth gave them a look, then returned behind the bar.

"If they served water here, I wouldn't want to drink either," Apulia said miserably. "But the barman said I either had to order something or leave... so I ordered mead."

"It's after work. You can drink whatever you want," Pomona said.

"It was after work last time too," Apulia said. "And my key went missing."

"And you nearly clocked out forever," Severus drawled. "What did you want to tell us?"
