Like most students, Charlie had heard that dragonflies had appeared and that the headmaster had allowed them to chase them freely. He had chased one too and found something.

It was a strange-looking eye, very much like a dragon's eye. Charlie had immediately put it on.

"Then I couldn't see anything," Charlie said. He was taking it rather well.

Pomona looked at the worried Bill, unsure whether he was worried about his brother or the Quidditch match. After all, he was a prefect now.

"Was this thing cursed?" Pomona asked Bill.

"I've never heard of anyone finding a Dark magic item," Bill said.

"Maybe it was an accident, or Charlie didn't put it on properly," Percy said.

Pomona looked at the "pet" in his hands. She truly had no idea how Poppy Pomfrey had allowed it into the Hospital Wing.

The temporary blindness had affected Charlie, but he believed he would recover soon. As time passed, he felt much better and could now see a little light and shadow.

Perhaps it really was nothing serious. After visiting the two of them, Pomona left the Hospital Wing.

The moment she stepped out the door, a dark shadow appeared behind her. She was enveloped in what felt like a cloud of black mist and swept away to Myrtle's bathroom.

"What are you doing?" she asked hurriedly.

He grabbed her arm and led her into a stall. Someone was actually brewing Potions inside.

"If she plans to experiment, she'd better do it under a teacher's supervision instead of finding herself a stall."

"Is this Aiken's 'laboratory'?" Pomona asked.

"No." He released her arm. "Why do you always bring up my childhood?"

Pomona fell silent.

He raised a hand and blocked the stall's exit, his cloak hanging like a curtain.
