"Rumble..."

Hearing the sound, Pomona and Trelawney looked at each other.

"I think I heard thunder," Pomona said.

"I heard it too," Trelawney said gravely. "It isn't your imagination."

For a moment, Pomona did not know what to say. She followed the sound forward.

Before long, they reached the Great Hall. Its doors were open, and the thunder was coming from inside.

Worse still, water had pooled everywhere on the floor. It seemed that the weather magic above the Great Hall had caused it to "rain."

"I remember the forecast said it would be sunny today," Pomona said.

"That was a lie," Trelawney said at once.

Pomona had actually wanted to discuss something else. Weather forecasts might not always be accurate, but how could a thunderstorm suddenly break out?

"Oh, you're here too."

They turned and saw Professor Ruse hurrying over, with Snape behind him. His brow was still tightly furrowed, and he looked as though he was still angry.

"What happened here? It looks as if Myrtle wreaked havoc," Pomona joked.

"There are defensive spells in the Great Hall. I don't think a ghost is capable of this," Professor Ruse said seriously. Then he looked at the rain inside the hall. "I think we should be worried about whether the defensive spells have been damaged."

Pomona looked at the candles floating in the air. Quite a few had already been extinguished by the rain.

That was perfectly normal, wasn't it? Water put out fire.

But if Rowena Ravenclaw had not considered that the Great Hall might rain indoors just as it did outside on rainy days, it would never have become the most frequently used place in the castle.

"You're still in the mood to laugh." Snape looked at her with a smile.
