Barty Crouch Sr. was dead, but Fudge believed the tournament had to continue.
"What did Dumbledore say?" Pomona asked.
But the person who had rushed over to warn her paid no attention to what she was saying. He only wanted to kiss her.
Because someone lacked certain knowledge, she had not actually lost her virginity yet.
But this did not seem like the time to be thinking about such things.
"Get up. I need to talk to you!" She shoved him hard.
Snape, looking like an adolescent boy, sat back up with a frustrated expression. His pale face had actually gained a little color from his excitement.
"Barty Crouch Sr. is dead. Who will be the judge?" she continued.
"How would I know? I'm just an insignificant teacher," he said sarcastically.
"Do you really not know, or..."
"I've been thinking about you." He raised a hand and stroked her cheek. "Did you think about me?"
She looked into those black eyes.
She knew far too many stories and precedents about the consequences of tasting forbidden fruit before there was any proper relationship between them.
Even after marrying and divorcing, becoming a single mother would be terribly difficult.
"Come to the greenhouse tonight," she said seriously. "It's daytime now."
Though he was not happy about it, he still agreed. He got up from the sofa and left her office.
After she had straightened herself out, Cedric came in. He looked at her in a way that made her feel very uncomfortable.
"Is something wrong?" she asked, still smiling.
"I just saw Professor Snape," Cedric said expressionlessly. "What was he doing here?"
