"Do you really think Lily did it?"

Pomona was making tea when Severus suddenly asked her that.

"What did Lily do?" she asked, baffled.

"That spell protecting the 'Salvator Mundi' until he came of age." He spoke in an almost mocking tone. "Every summer, he has to return to his aunt's house."

"Who else could it have been if not Lily?" Pomona set down the teapot and walked over to Severus. He was reading a book, which he casually handed to her.

"I suspect the author of this book," Severus said.

Pomona turned to the cover.

Twenty-One Uses of Dragon Blood, by Albus Dumbledore.

"You're interested in blood magic now?" Pomona sat on the arm of the armchair. From her angle, she could see a terrifying scar on his neck, though most of it was concealed by his collar.

"He is an expert on blood," Severus said. "Lily disliked blood."

"The force Lily used to rebound the Avada Kedavra was strange to begin with." Pomona handed the book back to him. "Maybe she secretly learned something somewhere."

He gave a sarcastic laugh. "Studying with Potter?"

Even Pomona herself could not believe that scene would ever have happened.

"What about when Lily was pregnant? Surely she didn't go on missions with James while carrying a huge belly."

The smile vanished from his face instantly.

She did not know what had upset him: Lily's pregnancy, or her mentioning James's name.

Just then, the water boiled, letting out a piercing whistle. She left the armchair and went to make tea.

Every year, the Eleusinian Lesser Mysteries were held between February and March. In Ancient Greece, the Eleusinian Mysteries took place at Eleusis near Athens. Yet after the fourth century, this pagan ritual was banned. It had not, however, disappeared.
