As Severus investigates Irma’s abduction and the unrest in France, the story turns to the Salem witch trials, where accusations and spectral claims spread through the village. Martha Corey is imprisoned, Rebecca Nurse faces a new accusation, and the story leaves Salem’s authorities deepening the persecution.

  • Severus learned from Madam Pince about Kamose I and the missing funerary bow, then found her gone from the library and followed clues suggesting Voldemort had arranged her abduction.
  • Severus questioned Lyall Mayer about Irma and the missing Muggle boy, then learned from Gong Saiyi that the pharaoh and royal consort might have used them to destroy the crocodiles.
