"What's wrong? Big sis?" Rita naturally linked her arm with Liu Bai's, aiming to provoke Natasha.
When people are angry, they lose their reason.
But, unfortunately, the most important person, Liu Bai, was right by her side.
She could both provoke Natasha and ensure her own safety.
"...Miss Rita, isn't this a bit inappropriate?"
Although it was close proximity with a beautiful woman.
He felt like Lu Su being held by Guan Yu in the historical romances.
Of course, this was close proximity with a beautiful woman.
Hmm... a beautiful girl Guan Yu didn't seem entirely unacceptable...
No, that's not the main point either!
Liu Bai felt his thoughts drifting.
"Mr. Liu Bai actually used himself as bait... Jackal, this mission's stage is handed over to Raven and Liu Bai, you are not allowed to interfere?"
Gray Serpent said calmly, watching the monitor.
The meaning of their own master was clear: Liu Bai absolutely could not be harmed.
Absolutely not.
Gray Serpent knew who among their own people liked to stir up trouble the most.
However, after waiting for a while, Gray Serpent didn't get a response from Jackal.
"Jackal?"
Gray Serpent felt something was wrong and turned his head slightly.
Fortunately, Jackal was still there, staring intently at the screen.
"Jackal?" Gray Serpent called out again.
"He..."
Jackal's throat moved.
"His name is Liu Bai, right?"
"...Yes."
Gray Serpent suddenly realized something was wrong, so he slightly adjusted his position to see Jackal's facial expression from the side.
"..."
This wasn't good. Hearts were already appearing in this person's eyes.
Could it be that the "love" Jackal mentioned earlier referred to Mr. Liu Bai?
"I want him..."
Bang—!
After hearing Jackal speak, a gunshot rang out, and Gray Serpent calmly put away the tranquilizer gun.
Fortunately, he had an emergency plan—after all, working with Jackal without one could lead to trouble at any time.
But... with Jackal setting her sights on him, Mr. Liu Bai would likely have a lot of trouble in the future.
But then again, how did Jackal become such a lovesick fool?
"Would you like a cup of coffee?"
Natasha, with a stern face, argued with Rita from the first floor to the second, both sides spouting dry and boring clichés—of course, Rita never let go of Liu Bai.
Finally, Natasha couldn't stand it anymore and was the first to say something other than the pointless bickering.
"...That would be appreciated."
Rita also decided to take a break; it was a bit tiring to keep up such meaningless talk.
Although she could feel the other party's overflowing anger, she wasn't completely overcome by it.
This is difficult... She couldn't possibly do something to Liu Bai, could she?
Rita also found the situation a bit tricky.
Hoo... I should adjust my state for now.
As for the coffee... she just needed to be careful about being poisoned.
Moreover, Rita didn't really believe the other party would poison her in front of Liu Bai—of course, she still needed to be cautious.
After sitting on the second floor for a while, Natasha returned shortly with a tray.
"Choose for yourself."
Liu Bai silently picked up the coffee cup closest to him.
[Elixir of Love Coffee]
[Coffee mixed with the Elixir of Love. Drinking it is equivalent to ingesting one Elixir of Love.]
"…?"
Wait, wait, wait?
What is this thing?
Natasha, you?
"Rita, aren't you picking one?"
A smile tugged at Natasha's lips, a smile that made Rita feel a deep sense of foreboding.
Ah, this sense of crisis…
Is it poison?
Statement on Going Premium
We're going premium.
After half a week of bonus updates, the author is truly drained, barely making it to the premium deadline.
On another note, Liu Bai said yesterday that the power in District 1 would be cut off until after 4 PM. Plus, the author was preparing to sleep. The premium chapter might be a bit late (power outage, pre-ordered game release, and new book going premium all at once, what kind of luck is this?)
Then, regarding the bounties, since there are only "razor blade" bounties, 804, which is about eight chapters, emmmm… how should I put it? If the bounty's premium day baseline of 4,000 words is used for bonus updates, then everyone won't be able to read anything.
Let's stop the bounties. Like my last book, I'll split it into two chapters with 8,000 words per day until I get lazy. In any case, the quantity will definitely be more than this bounty.
As for the update schedule, old readers know that the author is constantly adjusting their sleep schedule… What I can guarantee is that you'll see the previous day's update before 6 AM every day (if you don't see it, it means the author overslept due to adjusting their schedule) (A cat author's day is from 6 AM to 6 PM), and I'll make it up.
That's all for the premium statement. Honkai is not my first book, so please give me your first subscription and continued readership to keep my fighting spirit up.
Below is the reason for writing this book and some setting issues.
First, this semi-detached plot.
Well, actually, after suffering a blow, the author wanted to try to temper their original writing ability (of course, it's also partly because I'm tired of writing about spirits behind people, and I really don't have the confidence to surpass them).
Worldview.
The bounty chapters have pretty much covered it, but for easier understanding, you can think of it as a worldview that emerged after stacking several "happy ifs."
Like Jizi not drinking, Cecilia surviving, and so on (because for some characters, due to time span and other reasons, normal settings are very troublesome, and I think settings that are reasonable but slightly different are also quite interesting).
(Also, don't ask the author about Kiana and Bianca. I can't write "Kiana—who is Bianca in the original work" or "Bianca—who is Kiana in the original work" every couple of chapters, as it will ruin the reader experience.)
The author's goal is to try their best to forge a path with original plots, turning "happy party" into "impart."
Also, a slight digression about the mod setting.
The inspiration mainly comes from RimWorld and Skyrim (although I've played many modded games, these two gave me the most freedom and excellent modding experience—of course, within my own experience).
So the author also wanted to set up a relatively free… well, it's not that free, otherwise, I would have liked to write about a chaotic Liu Bai.
Actually, at first, I really wanted to write about the inner world of Honkai becoming ninja-like and magical girl-like. But after writing a bit, I felt it was easy to cross the line, and both the righteous start and the villain start felt a bit off (although I really wanted to write about Demon King Liu Bai humiliating the world, with characters like Shiranui Cecilia and Yukikaze Kiana, lol).
But the author feels they don't have much skill in writing explicit content, and focusing on "pure love" as the main storyline is too difficult and feels tiring, making it hard to write for a long time.
By the time I finished writing about the three sprouts in the last book, I had to start considering new ideas. Although after finishing the last book, I suddenly realized there were still quite a few plays I could explore (and I even considered writing fanfiction to earn some extra money).
The mod setting as a system is much better, allowing me to reasonably stuff a bunch of unreasonable things without affecting the main storyline, and even extend new main storylines (lol).
Of course, the author is also trying to include things that everyone can understand.
Also, male characters who only serve to annoy people or might hinder the plot's development will not appear (mainly Genshin Impact). The fewer, the better. I don't plan to release male characters in the gacha for Star Rail currently.
In short, no grand statement, just sharing my thoughts.

Chapter 59: Mutual Destruction Tactic
Why did Natasha give herself a cup of coffee mixed with the Elixir of Love?
Was she planning to harm Rita?
But now this cup was in his hand.
He couldn't possibly put this cup of coffee back for no reason.
So, would Natasha's plan… fail?
Liu Bai carefully observed the smile on Natasha's face, a smile filled with suppressed anger and anticipation.
No.
Natasha's expression didn't seem to fluctuate at all because Liu Bai had taken a cup of coffee containing the Elixir of Love.
Then… there was only one conclusion.
Liu Bai suddenly had a terrifying thought.
All three cups contained the Elixir of Love!
This was the only reason Natasha would be indifferent to his choice!
This wasn't a "choose one out of three" or "choose two out of three" from the very beginning!
Probability had never existed from the start!
That woman was planning to take Rita down with her!
Or rather, Natasha was preparing to power through it with her own willpower!
No wonder she'd only put one Elixir of Love in the coffee.
The Elixir of Love itself was gray, and the test tube didn't hold much. It also had no peculiar smell. Let alone being undetectable when thrown into coffee, even pure Elixir… a gray drink might be a bit strange, but such gimmicks weren't unheard of.
Natasha only used one, likely not considering the camouflage in the coffee, but rather her own tolerance.
After all, talking about efficacy without mentioning dosage was nonsense.
Natasha was betting that after drinking it, Rita would let her guard down and become lovestruck!
"..."
The hand holding the coffee cup trembled slightly in Liu Bai's grip... When you planned to trick people, did you even consider me?
Well, Rita had a good personality, so she probably wouldn't lash out at others.
"Miss Rita, you choose first."
Natasha's lips curled into an unconcealed cold smile.
"..."
Rita was currently caught in the same brainstorming session as Liu Bai.
