Ch. 404Tissaia's Gift and Lesson

Tissaia told Ailin that Ithlinne’s prophecy was already unfolding and urged him to bring her warning to the School of the Wolf. As the army prepared to face the Evil God, Ailin made bombs and considered which Essence Fluids to use before the coming battle.

  • Tissaia discussed Senne’s claim that the Wild Hunt were elves, then used the prophecy of Ithlinne to reveal that Ailin was the Child of Miracle and that the prophecy’s destruction had begun.
  • Tissaia warned Ailin that the Northern Continent needed the Power of Order, asked him to carry her message to Grandmaster Soyer, and asked him to tell Vera that her cause had made progress and she should come to Aretuza.
  • Ianna told Ailin that Mason and Tissaia were departing with the army, and Ailin said he would prepare alchemical items to help destroy the Monster’s Nest.
  • Ailin made fifteen Honeycomb Bombs, sent ten of them and Necrophage Oil with Vesemir to the main force, and reassured the young witchers left at the temple.
  • Ailin reviewed his stored Essence Fluids and elemental affinities, then prepared to use one Spiked Fiend’s Heart Essence Fluid.

Ch. 405Enhancement and Battle

Ailin enhanced himself with monster Heart Essence Fluids and discovered a strange sensation in the Mutated Organ near his heart, though he could not determine its cause. He refused to take the young witchers into battle, then flew toward the coming fight against the Evil God after upgrading several skills and resolved that he had to keep winning.

  • Ailin drank Spiked Fiend and Giant Ghoul Heart Essence Fluids, increasing his attributes and affinities while the strange sensation in his Mutated Organ grew stronger.
  • Ailin examined the Mutated Organ and found magical power surging inside it, but could not identify what it was nurturing.
  • Ernie and the other young witchers asked to join the battle, but Ailin refused and ordered them to brew three hundred portions of Necrophage Oil for a chance to fight the Necrophages the next day.
  • Ailin rode the Greater Griffin away from the temple and spent experience and skill points to upgrade his swordsmanship, Signs, spells, and Demon Hunt skill.
  • Ailin saw the torchlit army winding up the mountain road and vowed that he could only win and had to keep winning.

Ch. 406An Unexpected Disruption to the Plan

As the crusading army marched through the Mahakam foothills, Arthur told Sala that Ailin had secured the Goddess’s favor for the High Priest, while the witchers had gone ahead on a separate mission. Ghouls ambushed the column before it reached the planned battlefield, and Sala confronted the monsters after they threw the mutilated bodies of his scouts before him.

  • Sala and Arthur discussed the army’s casualties, the Sorceresses’ Light Spells, and Ailin’s role in persuading Meritellie to grant the High Priest divine power.
  • Arthur revealed that the witchers had left to carry out their own mission, while the army continued without them.
  • Ghouls appeared ahead of the marching column, and Sala sent Arthur to warn the High Priest and Sorceresses as he hurried to the front.
  • Sala found countless Ghouls blocking the path and learned that the scouts he had sent ahead were missing.
  • The Ghouls hurled the mutilated bodies of Bors, Rodrigo, Ur, Mars, and Nash before Sala and the Monster Hunter Army, provoking the soldiers as the monsters roared from the darkness.

Ch. 407Kill! Kill! Kill!

Ailin and Vesemir watched Sala and the Monster Hunter Army face a vast horde of corpse-eating monsters, then descended to help when they could no longer bear to stand by. Tissaia, the Sorceresses, the human army, and Ianna turned the battle around with coordinated magic and divine protection, leaving the humans charging into the monsters.

  • Ailin and Vesemir spotted hidden Ghouls, Rotfiends, Giant Ghouls, and Spiked Fiends surrounding Sala and the Monster Hunter Army, but initially held back to protect the plan to draw monsters away from the ritual.
  • As the Ghouls advanced on Sala's forces, Ailin decided to intervene, and Vesemir followed him toward the battle on the Greater Griffin.
  • Vesemir warned Ailin to fly higher when Tissaia began casting Geoffrey Monk's Firestorm, which swept through the horde and exposed the other monsters.
  • Tissaia directed arriving Sorceresses to attack the monsters and widen the mountain road, while shield-bearing soldiers advanced to protect the army and mages.
  • Ianna prayed to the Mother of All Things, blessing the soldiers' armor and weapons with golden light as she aged back into her old form.
  • Sala rallied the empowered human forces, and the army charged into the stunned ghoul creatures as the Firestorm died away.

Ch. 408Hidden Danger

The human coalition advanced through the necrophages under Meritellie’s Divine Art, while Ailin and Vesemir worried that its power was fading too quickly. At the first Monster’s Nest, a thrower launched Ailin’s Honeycomb Bomb inside, leaving the outcome unresolved.

  • Ianna’s Divine Art empowered the coalition’s weapons and armor, allowing Sala and the Monster Hunter Army to cut through the Ghouls.
  • Ailin and Vesemir realized the Divine Art was fading faster than planned because the necrophages had disrupted the original battle plan.
  • The coalition advanced into the valley, where Tissaia destroyed the Spiked Fiends with lightning and explosions as the Sorceresses protected the soldiers from falling rubble.
  • Ianna ordered the throwers to attack the first Monster’s Nest with Dwarven and Honeycomb Bombs, while Sorceresses held back the surrounding necrophages.
  • A thrower followed Ailin’s instructions and tossed a smoking Honeycomb Bomb into the Monster’s Nest, and the battlefield fell silent.

Ch. 409A Fierce Battle with the Big-Eyed Evil God!

Lawson Roche’s Dwarven Bomb destroyed the first Monster’s Nest, prompting the necrophages to mass against Ianna’s forces while the Summoning Ritual began to stir. Ailin and Vesemir flew toward the ritual to confront the Evil God, and Ailin warned Vesemir to close his eyes as the giant eye opened.

  • Lawson Roche feared the Honeycomb Bomb had failed, but the first Monster’s Nest convulsed and died, and Sala escorted him back to the army.
  • Sala learned the thrower’s name was Lawson Roche and praised his bravery.
  • Ailin noticed the necrophages near the Summoning Ritual begin to move after the Monster’s Nest was destroyed.
  • Ailin and Vesemir saw the necrophages converge on Ianna’s forces and realized the Divine Art’s time limit made the gathering horde an opportunity to attack the ritual.
  • Ailin and Vesemir prepared their swords with Enhanced Necrophage Oil and flew toward the battlefield on the Greater Griffin.
  • The Evil God’s giant eye opened and looked toward the descending witchers, and Ailin shouted for Vesemir to close his eyes.

Ch. 410Desperate Discovery

Ailin and Vesemir arrived on a Greater Griffin and used a Magic Flash to disrupt the ghoul creatures and the Summoning Ritual, rallying the human defenders. Ailin attacked the ritual but discovered it was a Level 99 Remnant, and without Remnant Oil he could barely damage it.

  • Tissaia directed the Sorceresses and priests as the endless ghoul assault pushed the defenders toward collapse.
  • Ianna revealed that Ailin had arrived on a Greater Griffin, and the soldiers rallied and advanced toward the second Monster's Nest.
  • Ailin sent Good Girl to help Vesemir, then leaped from the Griffin to attack the Summoning Ritual while Vesemir fought the guarding Spiked Fiend.
  • The Summoning Ritual awakened when Ailin activated Monster Hunt, resisted his attacks, and caused him to realize it was a Level 99 Remnant.
  • Ailin's strikes made almost no progress, and he realized he lacked the Remnant Oil needed to fight it effectively.

Ch. 411Breaking the Deadlock

Ailin realized the Summoning Ritual’s smaller eyes were vulnerable to his sword, and he began attacking them to build Demon Hunt progress. As the returning necrophages closed in, Lyra’s wooden amulet snapped.

  • The Greater Griffin killed a Spiked Fiend by carrying it high into the air and dropping it, while Vesemir fought off the other necrophages.
  • Ailin recognized that the Summoning Ritual was mentally attacking him, and the Mirage Pearl briefly cleared his thoughts.
  • Ailin concluded that the ritual’s smaller eyes were vulnerable even though its giant eye resisted attacks, then charged toward the flesh-covered tower.
  • Ailin used Demon Hunt and stabbed a smaller eye with Elsa, raising his progress to twelve percent through repeated strikes.
  • A loud crack came from Lyra’s wooden amulet as Ailin prepared another attack.

Ch. 412Summoning Ritual Phase Two and the Conjunction of the Spheres

Ailin fought the Summoning Ritual while its attacks grew stronger and its colossal body rose from the valley. As the creature began destroying the eyes he needed for hunting progress, Ailin realized he might use the Conjunction of the Spheres and the arriving necrophages to disrupt it.

  • Ailin used the rising mist to shield himself from the Summoning Ritual's attacks, but the creature sacrificed its eyeballs to unleash increasingly powerful blasts that repeatedly shattered his defenses.
  • With necrophages charging into the valley and Vesemir holding them back, Ailin risked crossing the exposed ground, used Magic Flash to stun the creature, and resumed attacking its eyes.
  • Ailin pulled Elsa from the Summoning Ritual and continued building Demon Hunt progress, then noticed that hundreds of the creature's eyes were withering as its giant body began rising.
  • As more eyes burst and the giant vertical eye threatened to open, Ailin stopped avoiding the necrophages and used Igni to ignite Rotfiends, unlocking the Ghoul bestiary and triggering a Conjunction of the Spheres ghoul encounter in 54 seconds.

Ch. 413The Evil God Has Descended!

Ailin battled the Summoning Ritual while successive Conjunctions of the Spheres brought in monsters that Vesemir and the valley’s upheavals helped destroy. Just as Ailin neared victory, the ritual sacrificed every remaining eyeball, shattered the talisman, and allowed the Evil God to descend.

  • Ailin teleported onto the tentacles and donned the concealed Conqueror's Armor of the Wild Hunt as the Ghoul Conjunction of the Spheres began.
  • The Conjunction’s tremors knocked down the tentacles and killed many carrion creatures, completing Ailin’s Rotfiend and Giant Ghoul quests while Vesemir fought through the valley.
  • Ailin kept stabbing the ritual’s eyeballs, used Blind Dust on its opening eye, and pushed his Monster Hunt progress to 81% as his time and stamina dwindled.
  • The tentacles fell still, but the ritual began exploding its remaining eyeballs, preventing Ailin from advancing the progress bar.
  • A new Conjunction of the Spheres began as Ailin realized the ritual had sacrificed every eyeball; his talisman cracked apart, the giant eye opened, and the Evil God descended.

Ch. 414The Witcher's Sacrifice Was Not in Vain

Ailin reached 100% Demon Hunt progress and fought the Evil God while Vesemir, Ianna, and Tissaia learned that it had fully descended. As Ianna prepared to risk herself and Tissaia arranged an evacuation, a blazing sun began rising in the valley, and the Evil God stared at it in terror.

  • Ailin resisted the Evil God's command, regained control of his body, and used Balmor to reach 100% Demon Hunt progress.
  • The Evil God unleashed destructive attacks on Ailin, who dodged across its tentacles while explosions ravaged the valley.
  • Vesemir kept fighting the ghoul creatures until Sala and the soldiers arrived, then learned from Tissaia that the Evil God had descended.
  • Tissaia stopped Vesemir from rushing into the valley and urged Ianna to evacuate everyone, but Ianna chose to try one last method.
  • A blazing sun rose within the valley as the Evil God stared at it in horror.

Ch. 415Godslayer Ailin!

Ailin used monster-hunting’s blood-red footprints to evade the Giant-Eyed Great Old One and charge up its tower, where he killed it with Balmor and Primal Magic. The tower erupted in a blazing explosion, leaving Ailin overwhelmed by weakness and fearing the consequences.

  • Ailin followed the blood-red footprints around the tower, dodged the Evil God’s attacks, and recalled that its gray despair resembled the residue from the place of magic in Viscount Hudson’s abandoned castle.
  • The Evil God sent corpse-eating creatures after Ailin, but he sprinted past them and ran up the slick tower using the Conquest Armor’s terrain-gripping boots.
  • As red and gray attacks blocked his path, Ailin unleashed a furious roar that dispelled them and cleared the way to the giant eye.
  • Ailin leaped above the Evil God and drove Balmor into its eye, channeling Primal Magic through the blade and piercing it with green light.
  • The Evil God began to speak of returning, then fell silent as light spread through the tower and it erupted, leaving Ailin weak and terrified.

Ch. 416The Vanished Hero

After a massive explosion destroyed the Evil God’s physical form, the gathered soldiers, priests, and Sorceresses celebrated Ailin as the Godslayer. When Vesemir and the others realized Ailin had not returned from the valley, Ianna rallied everyone to search for him, and they charged back into the battlefield.

  • A blast erupted from the Summoning Ritual tower, and Tissaia concluded that Ailin had driven away the Evil God.
  • Sala proposed the title Godslayer for Ailin, and the soldiers and priests joined in the cheering.
  • Vesemir woke, learned the Evil God had been driven away, and collapsed from exhaustion; Tissaia invited him and Ailin to lecture at Aretuza.
  • Vesemir, Ianna, and Tissaia realized Ailin was missing among the surviving corpse-eaters in the valley.
  • Ianna urged the crowd to save Ailin, and Sala, Lawson Roche, the Monster Hunter Army, farmers, Sorceresses, and priestesses charged into the valley as the Greater Griffin cried out.

Ch. 417Ban Ard Is So Miserable—What Does That Have to Do with Me, a Witcher?

Ailin survived the blast with the Greater Griffin’s help and descended toward the cheering crowd, but he discovered that his nearly completed monster-hunting quests could trigger dangerous rewards. He decided Ban Ard would be the ideal place to unleash the resulting Planetary Alignment.

  • The Greater Griffin caught Ailin before he struck the cliff, and he drank White Honey while recovering from the severe effects of Roar: Frenzy.
  • Ailin heard the crowd below celebrating the Evil God’s defeat and calling him by several titles as the Greater Griffin carried him toward the valley.
  • Ailin worried that two otherworldly Large Monsters might still be alive and headed down to assess the danger amid the lingering smoke.
  • Ailin checked the Witcher’s Handbook and found that his Ghoul, Rotfiend, and Giant Ghoul hunting quests were close to completion.
  • Ailin concluded that Ban Ard was a suitable place to trigger the dangerous Planetary Alignment without endangering Arland.

Ch. 418The Hero's Return and the Cannibals' Infighting

Ailin returned from driving off the Evil God, and the human forces continued attacking the cannibals. After the monsters began fighting among themselves, Ailin realized the surviving factions belonged to different Monster's Nests and set out to destroy the remaining nests.

  • Ailin returned to the valley on the Greater Griffin, and the human army recognized him as the hero who had driven off the Evil God.
  • Ianna and Tissaia continued the assault on the cannibals, while Ailin concealed the weakness caused by his recent battle.
  • Ailin confirmed that the Summoning Ritual and Aen Seidhe Tower had been destroyed, then declined to tell Tissaia how he had defeated the Evil God.
  • The cannibals split into two factions and began fighting each other after losing the Evil God's control.
  • Ailin learned that Ianna's forces had bypassed the Monster's Nests and decided to ride the Greater Griffin to destroy them himself.

Ch. 419The Worldline Changed by Him

Ailin and Vesemir destroyed the last Monster's Nest near Arland, while Vesemir realized how completely Ailin's actions had changed the School of the Wolf's fortunes. The chapter ended with Ailin receiving a mysterious system notification after the monsters and Summoning Ritual were marked eliminated.

  • Ailin refused Vesemir's offer to destroy a Monster's Nest and continued attacking the remaining nests himself, despite his exhaustion.
  • Vesemir concluded that the School of the Wolf had become essential to Kedwen and wondered whether Ailin had deliberately orchestrated the kingdom's and Ban Ard's troubles; Ailin denied planning everything.
  • Ailin destroyed the final Monster's Nest near Arland, and Vesemir observed the Ghouls fleeing into the mountains.
  • Ailin said the Monster Hunting Legion could use the Ghouls for training and noted that Henn Gedimidis was still missing after being abducted by Senne.
  • Vesemir caught Ailin as he suddenly went blank-eyed, and Ailin heard a system notification listing several eliminated threats and an unfamiliar corrupted name.

Ch. 420A Bountiful Harvest and a Man's Awakening

Ailin drove away the Evil God and inspected the Witcher's Handbook's immense rewards, including a mysterious purple Element that seemed beyond his strength to understand. As the survivors celebrated his victory, Lawson Roche chose to join the Monster Hunter Army so he could fight to protect his family himself.

  • Ailin reviewed the A-rated hunt settlement, identified the garbled reward as belonging to the Evil God, and wondered about the Witcher's Handbook and the White Frost.
  • Ailin counted 202 Experience Orbs and a bounty of monster loot, then found a purple Element whose panel warned him not to learn too much before growing stronger.
  • Ailin and Vesemir descended into the valley as the survivors recovered and Sala explained to Lawson Roche why the ghouls had fled.
  • Sala told Lawson Roche that Ailin had destroyed the Monster's Nest and recounted his earlier deeds, leaving Lawson Roche astonished that the boy from his memories had saved him again.
  • After seeing Ailin arrive to the crowd's cheers, Lawson Roche rejected the idea of remaining a helpless bystander and asked Sala to let him join the Monster Hunter Army.

Ch. 421The Suspected Witcher

After helping drive out the Evil God, Ailin and Vesemir returned to the elven tower ruins, where Tissaia’s restoration spell revealed that no magical traces of the summoning or tower remained. Tissaia offered Ailin Giant Ghoul marrow in exchange for an answer about whether the impossible absence of traces came from the Evil God or from him.

  • Ailin and Vesemir returned to cheering soldiers after the battle, and Ailin agreed that Vesemir had helped drive out the Evil God.
  • Ailin, Vesemir, Ianna, Tissaia, and Arthur discussed the escaped corpse-eating creatures and agreed the School of the Wolf would handle them under the existing contract.
  • Tissaia’s Sorceresses found that their restoration magic detected no traces of the summoning ritual, the Evil God’s descent, or the ancient elven tower.
  • Ailin asked Tissaia for Giant Ghoul marrow for his potion, and she offered to provide it in exchange for an answer.
  • Tissaia asked Ailin whether the lack of traces had been caused by the Evil God or by Ailin himself.

Ch. 422Call Lady Vesemir Along

After the Evil God’s defeat, Tissaia de Vries invited Ailin to Aretuza to teach Monster Economics and offered to enchant his armor, while remaining interested in his unusual abilities. Ailin accepted the invitation and told Ianna and Vesemir he would bring Lady Vesemir along.

  • Ailin refused to explain how he had driven away the Evil God, and Tissaia de Vries warned Ianna that hidden ritualists might cause another summoning.
  • Ianna proposed warning the Northern Continent’s rulers and disposing of corpses that could enable future rituals, while Vesemir agreed to watch for abnormalities as the witchers cleared the remaining necrophages.
  • Ianna ordered the camp to break, and Tissaia de Vries said only thirty-four people had died because Ailin had helped save the valley.
  • Tissaia de Vries invited Ailin to Aretuza to teach Monster Economics and offered to personally enchant his Witcher Master armor if he came.
  • Ailin accepted the invitation despite Ianna’s protest and told her and Vesemir that he would bring Lady Vesemir along.

Ch. 423A Skilled Assassin Cannot Kill a Vigilant Knight

Ailin agreed to visit Aretuza with Lady Vesemir, but Vesemir warned him that the sorceresses there could be dangerous allies. As the army reached Arland, someone rushed into Ailin’s arms, and he greeted them with, “I’m back.”

  • Ailin agreed with Ianna that he would only visit Aretuza if Lady Vesemir accompanied him.
  • Ailin chose to return to Arland with the main force, using the Greater Griffin to deter threats on the journey.
  • Vesemir warned Ailin that even trusted companions could betray him and urged him to reconsider visiting Aretuza.
  • As the army neared Arland, Vesemir noticed someone approaching Ailin from behind.
  • Someone embraced Ailin, and he said, “I’m back.”
