"The wonders of magic..." Mr. Granger tried hard to hide himself behind a smile, but the bitterness at the corner of his mouth simply would not stay concealed. "Yes! These are the wonders of magic—things Muggles can't even imagine!"
"Why the sudden gloom?" Xenophilius said. "Muggles have plenty of amazing things too, like... airplanes! They carry so many people at once, and they can actually fly!"

Mr. Granger picked up his cup of black tea and took a small sip.
Although he knew these were words meant to comfort him, the bitterness he had hidden in his heart did ease quite a bit because of them.
