Inside the mansion's living room, the air was thick with the strong smell of cigars.
A huge Christmas tree hung with twinkling lights stood lonely in the corner.
The wood in the fireplace burned, crackling as it drowned out the sound of the cold wind howling past outside the window.

Joseph Bonanno flicked his thumb and casually opened a box of Chocolate Frogs, handing it to a child. "Little Roz, want some?"
Hesitation flashed through the child's eyes, and he looked up at his mother.
His mother's expression was tense. Her weathered, exhausted face was tight and filled with fear. Feeling the child's gaze, she still did not dare lower her head or give any instruction lightly.
The Chocolate Frog soon moved. Its hind legs kicked hard, and it leaped out of the box; with another kick, it drew an arc through the air and fell toward the floor.
But it never got another chance. A flash of silver passed, and a small knife had already pierced through its belly.
"If you don't seize an opportunity, it runs away, doesn't it?" Joseph Bonanno lifted the knife, put the Chocolate Frog with its legs still twitching into his mouth, and chewed slowly.
After seeing this, the child trembled all over. Though he tried hard to restrain his emotions, he still could not help making a whimpering sound.
It seemed that the silver flash of the little knife had pierced not only the Chocolate Frog's belly, but also the last thread of strength the child had been forcing himself to hold on to.
