The second day of the O.W.L. Exams was the Written Exam and practical exam for Ancient Runes.
Harry and Ron had not taken Ancient Runes. As Hermione put it, that gave them a whole extra day compared to her to prepare for the upcoming Potions Exam.
When Harry and Ron rubbed their eyes and arrived at the Great Hall for lunch, they discovered that Hermione was nowhere to be seen.
Ron looked toward Parvati Pettier, seated diagonally across from them. "Parvati! Do you know where Hermione is?"
Parvati Pettier swallowed the food in her mouth and gently shook her head. "Hermione? Isn't she with you two?"
Ron shrugged. "No... we aren't taking the Ancient Runes exam."
Harry looked at Parvati Pettier. "Parvati, I remember you took today's exam, right? Didn't you see her in the exam room? Or anywhere else?"
"I think I did..." After thinking for a moment, Parvati Pettier said, "Probably in the library... When I left just now, I think I saw her curled up in a corner revising."
Harry and Ron exchanged a look and said helplessly, "She probably lost track of time again..."
Ron nodded and suggested, "Then let's bring her something to eat."
Sure enough, Hermione was still in the library. She had been so absorbed in revising that she had completely forgotten about lunch.
