At the moment he was pinned to the ground by those familiar figures, "The Master," Mictlantecuhtli, strangely felt as though... he could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
Clearly, in the distant past, he had slaughtered nearly all of those figures. Only Odin had held on until the end, paying for it with his own death to seal him away. So why...
Why had all those figures come back to life now?
He had originally thought that their appearance came from some magic of Vizet Lovegood's, from Vizet Lovegood's impressions of them after returning to the past.
Yet the abilities those figures displayed, as well as the thoughts they conveyed to him, felt incomparably familiar.
So familiar that he could be certain they were the figures he knew best, exactly the same as in his memories of the past!
In some ways, they were even more terrifying.
After all, no matter how many times he destroyed those relentlessly persistent figures, they would reappear and continue their attacks without fear of death.
Perhaps the only difference was that the strength of the abilities they displayed was far weaker than it had been in the past.
Moreover, after being attacked, his body still healed rapidly. That meant the attacks those figures inflicted upon him were also some kind of magic.
As the origin of magic, no matter how those spells evolved, they could not inflict truly fatal wounds on him. At most, they could confine him as they did now, or seal him away once more.
It was simply that he had never seen this kind of magic that summoned figures from the past. He would have to study and break it before he could erase these figures conjured by magic.
Perhaps that was why Vizet Lovegood had acted at that moment,
