The sudden voice made Circe's pupils contract sharply.
Just as she tried to flee, she felt an invisible force bind her entire body, leaving her utterly unable to move.
Every hair on her body stood on end. It felt as though an Invisible Hand had seized her heart in a crushing grip, making her chest so tight that she could barely breathe.
She could not even utter a word. All she could do was watch as Snape approached step by step, his cold gaze fixed firmly on her eyes.
That icy stare was like a viper carefully sizing up its prey before beginning the hunt, sending a biting chill through her entire body.
Yet because of that, her Survival Instinct drove her thoughts into rapid motion.
The situation was extremely complicated. She did not know how Snape had found this place, but she had disguised herself. She could still use that to look for an opportunity to escape.
With that in mind, she immediately lowered her voice and asked in a rough tone befitting her appearance, "Sir? Are you talking about me? Have you mistaken me for someone else?"
"Circe? That sounds like a character from some myth... If you need it, perhaps I can help you contact the Ministry of Magic?"
Snape raised an eyebrow as he looked over Circe in her Muggle clothes. "Oh? You know about the Ministry of Magic?"
Circe hurriedly replied, "Of course I do! In fact, I'm a government employee. I've coordinated with your Ministry of Magic and handled quite a few matters that needed to be kept confidential."
"Something so terrifying just happened. I suppose this so-called confidentiality is probably... probably no longer necessary at all. Wizards and Muggles can be friends, can't they?"
