Third rank and above:
An ordinary commandery governor was lower third rank; after all, he managed several million people in a commandery.
A Main City Commandery Governor was upper third rank.
An ordinary commander was lower third rank, such as the Heavenly Wolf County Guard Commander.
An Ace Team Commander like Yun Huayi was upper third rank.
And a Military Region Deputy General from a major military region like Zuo Tingjun was also upper third rank, but in terms of actual power and value, he was far above Yun Huayi.
A Senior Deputy General would be specially assigned lower second rank; Ge Laizheng was one such case.
A Giant City Level Commandery Governor like Xue Churan was of lower second rank, and was usually concurrently held by a governor-general or Deputy Governor.
A governor-general and Great General were upper second rank, the same level as the department heads of the cabinet and Military Department in the Imperial Court.
There was an unspoken rule here: anyone below Soul Sage could not be granted third rank, and anyone below Soul Douluo could not be granted second rank, unless they had made an enormous contribution to the empire.
The highest civil and military posts, Chief Grand Secretary (Prime Minister) and Military Department Grand Governor (Marshal), were lower first rank.
Upper first rank was entirely Honorary Titles.
The current Military Department Grand Governor was Prince Jiqing, specially assigned with the upper first rank Honorary Title of Grand Marshal as a Super Douluo.
