The overall layout of this giant venue was basically similar to the Heaven Spirit Arena, but its scale was far grander.
On the north side were the elevated stands reserved for the imperial family and officials, while the south side was the viewing area for the academies' teachers. Below it, a semicircular judges' platform was suspended in midair.
At the center of the venue was a circular arena two hundred and fifty meters in diameter, its edge encircled by a ring-shaped ditch three meters wide and five meters deep.
On the east and west sides were the competitors' entrance passage and the coaches' seating area respectively.
Unlike the Heaven Spirit Arena, which could only hold fifty thousand people, this Heaven Dou Great Arena could accommodate one hundred and twenty thousand spectators, divided across three tiers of stands.
It was just past nine in the morning, yet the stands were already packed with people, every seat filled, with flags of all colors fluttering in the wind.
As the Heaven Dou Emperor Xue Yintao announced the official start of the tournament, thunderous applause and cheers erupted throughout the entire venue, instantly setting the atmosphere ablaze.
Emperor Xue Yintao sat upright in the honored seat at the center of the high platform.
