As the three words "Shao Siming" settled, the seven towering giant vines beneath Donghuang Xiuyi seemed to answer a heavenly revelation, and suddenly underwent a wondrous transformation.
The Sky Azure Vine bloomed with pale-blue little flowers, fresh and vibrant; the Life Vine glowed with a warm, milky-white radiance, its aura of life rippling outward; the Meteor Vine's black-and-red petals burst open, star patterns flowing across them like sparks in the dark night; amid the faint arcs of violet lightning dancing over the Thunder Hell Vine, deep-purple flowers emerged.
The Ageless Evergreen Ivy that bore the throne changed most strangely of all: beside its green pistil, four petals spread out in red, blue, yellow, and gold, reflecting one another and flowing with a dreamlike sheen beneath the sunlight.
In an instant, this vast arena, battered and broken after fierce battle, was completely covered by a magnificent sea of flowers that had suddenly unfurled.
Rich, vivid colors spilled everywhere, and fragrance rose and curled through the entire hall, refreshing the heart.
Countless petals broke free from their branches and drifted down in flurries, laying a many-colored floral carpet over the scorched earth.
At the same time, though the Sword Willow Vine and the Void Willow God Vine had no pistils, endless white willow catkins scattered silently like snow and mist, dancing lightly through the air.
A soft breeze blew, lifting countless petals and airy catkins on the current. They drifted like butterflies toward the twenty-four giant stands surrounding the arena—the Ancient Vine Barrier and energy shield had already been withdrawn—colors intertwining, strange fragrance spreading, as beautiful as a dream.
Yet amid this dazzling symphony of life, there was, in the end, a silent final note of withering.
