• A young woman of the Star Crown Xu Family lamented that her father had promised her as a concubine to a cardinal, while Qing'er urged her to approach the golden-haired young man aboard their ferry.
• The Xu girl spoke with Dai Yao, who explained that he was traveling to meet an old acquaintance, then a sixty-thousand-year Man Faced Demon Spider attacked the ferry.
