Hearing Qu Jianlei's question, Kenpas frowned and grew hesitant.
But in the end, he still said haltingly,
"Just one robot isn't really worth much, but it's genuinely useful. Otherwise, I wouldn't have specifically brought it out."
There was nothing wrong with that logic. Qu Jianlei was not surprised, only saying bluntly, "I asked you to name a price."
Kenpas hesitated for a while longer before saying uncertainly, "Then... twenty million?"
That price was truly rather outrageous. Even top-tier robots used for cutting-edge work rarely reached that price point.
And this robot looked exceedingly large, clumsy, and crude, with very poor humanoid design.
Kenpas knew that too, which was why he had hesitated so much.
He explained solemnly, "I'm not naming a price at random. This thing really is useful... even thirty million wouldn't be expensive if I were buying it."
Then he asked tentatively, "If you think it's too expensive, could you pick something else?"
In fact, he had several million Energy Blocks in reserve as well, which counted as hard currency.
"I'll take it," Qu Jianlei answered without hesitation. "Ten million for the rescue fee, and I'll give you another ten million. Any problem with that?"
For him now, tens of millions really was small money. More importantly, he felt this thing was worth studying.
"Then... all right," Kenpas said after not hesitating for long. Did he have any choice in this situation?
Besides, the other party was being fair. Not only had they not bargained, they were even willing to make up the difference themselves.
"Be content," Old Lady Jia said. She was not one to chatter, but since he was at least an acquaintance, she offered him a bit of guidance.
"It's nearly worth a Small Attack Ship, yet you still look so reluctant."
Kenpas nodded honestly.
