Qu Jianlei decided to leave not because they had used up too much ammunition.
The main reason was that their attacks had focused on destroying the trees rather than the Locust.
Half the trees had been destroyed, but at most a little over ten percent of the Locust had been killed.
Laser Weapons consumed a great deal of energy. They had brought plenty of Energy Blocks, but there was no need to waste them.
More importantly, when the Battalion-Class Ship had pursued the Tree Sea, those Locust with nowhere left to go had actually started tearing into their own kind.
The purpose of the test had been achieved, and they had their results. There was no need to keep stirring things up.
If they launched another attack, they might instead force these Alien Races to unite against a common enemy. That clearly was not worth it.
What they should do was focus on analyzing the Locust's physical structure during the rest of the journey.
As someone born in the Great Foodie Empire, Qu Jianlei first had to determine whether Locust meat was edible.
The inspection results were somewhat disappointing. Locust corpses were extraordinarily rich in energy, but their flesh was toxic and carried mildly corrosive energy.
According to Xiao Hu's analysis, that corrosive energy was similar to the energy contained in the wooden boxes and should dissipate fairly quickly.
But the toxins in the flesh... that was a real headache.
Qu Jianlei was somewhat unwilling to give up. He specifically set aside two corpses for Xiao Hu to conduct toxin-neutralization tests on.
If the toxins could be removed, they could then try to see whether it tasted good.
Fourth Boss and the others did not have particularly strong appetites, and Hua Xiezhi even asked outright, "First One, do you really
